Why National Protest Against Suspended Gov Amosun By Workers Is Billed To Kick Off At 6A.M Tomorrow

It is confirmed. There is no going back on the planned national protest against Governor Ibikunle Amosun by the leaders of workers body, Nigeria Labour Congress.

The protest is against the bad treatment meted out to workers by Governor Ibikunle Amosun which includes diversion contribution deductions, multiple taxation, reduction of retirees’ gratuity, refusal to pay leave allowance and other anti-workers actions in eight years as governor of Ogun state.

The development comes at a bad time for Amosun who is struggling to make Adekunle Akinlade the gubernatorial candidate of rival Allied People’s Movement his successor.

The national protest which comes barely four days to gubernatorial election threatens to make a mess of Amosun’s effort to install his preferred successor and the governor has warned the NLC leaders to stay away from Ogun state or disgraced.

The NLC responded to the threat from the governor who is already suspended by his party -All Progressives Congress – for working against the interest of its gubernatorial candidate, Dapo Abiodun by mobilizing far and wide for tomorrow’s national protest.

Sources on ground disclosed the word amongst workers is that all stakeholders must be assembled at the Labour House situated on Abiola, Abeokuta Ogun state by 6.a.m.

Sources disclosed that the early morning time was chosen so that the protest would be well underway and a bit of ground of the earmarked route the protest would take covered before the scorching sun starts.

Societynow.ng labour leaders have assured workers that arrangement is already in place to protect the workers from any possible attack from any quarter.
