The Real Story Behind Gbenga Daniel & His Team’s Support For Dapo Abiodun’s Guber Ambition.

It is true. A former governor of Ogun state Otunba Gbenga Daniel has thrown his weight behind the gubernatorial ambition of Dapo Abiodun.

Abiodun is the gubernatorial candidate of the All Progressives Congress.

Otunba Genga Daniel, a prominent leader of the People’s Democratic Party recently directly his loyalists to support the efforts to make Abiodun the next Governor of Ogun state.

The investigation conducted by societynow.ng, however, revealed that there is a catch in Daniel’s support for Abiodun.

‘’As long as the judgment that would be rendered tomorrow does not favour Ladi Adebutu in the fight to determine the PDP candidate in Ogun state, the support for Abiodun stands but if it does Daniel and his supporters would naturally switch allegiance back to Adebutu’’ societynow.ng learned.
Ladi Adebutu and Kashamu Buruji are currently slugging it out in the court to determine the authentic gubernatorial candidate of the PDP in Ogun state.

The leadership of the PDP backs Adebutu but Kashamu – already expelled from the party -enjoys the status of possessing rulings that favour him as a product of the ‘’legally recognized’’ faction of the PDP in Ogun state.

The make or mar supreme court judgment that would confirm the status of Kashamu and Adebutu in the March 9 gubernatorial and state house of assembly election is scheduled for tomorrow.

Societynow.ng learned Gbenga Daniel decided to throw his weight behind Abiodun based on conviction the APC candidate is a far better choice than the alternatives, especially Allied People’s Movement’s Adekunle Akinlade. And supporting Kashamu is certainly not an option for him.

Akinlade is widely seen as an extension of the administration of his passionate backer Governor Ibikunle Amosun.

Amosun who is now a Senator-Elect on the platform of the ruling All Progressives Congress – and already suspended for anti-party activities – is passionately campaigning for APM’s candidate Akinlade to become his successor against the interest of his party’s candidate Abiodun.

The governor is currently facing protest over bad treatment meted out to workers by his administration.
