Aregbesola who is the immediate past Governor of Osun state is the sole nominee from Osun state.

Insiders, however, insist that Oyetola did not back Aregbesola to clinch the slot.

Amitolu is described as a young professional who is not unknown to Aregbesola but has exceedingly loyal to Oyetola.

Sources claim Oyetola worked against Aregbesola as part of efforts to consolidate political powers in Osun state.
