The Celestial Church of Christ Worldwide has placed an embargo on anointment into the rank of Assistant Most Superior Evangelist (AMSE), suspending all elevations until December 2026.

The directive was issued by the Pastor and Spiritual Head of the Church, Reverend Emmanuel Mobiyina Oshoffa, who instructed that all aspiring candidates “take note of this embargo and comply to the letter.”

The AMSE rank is regarded as one of the most revered positions within the Church, making the decision a major development for clergy members awaiting elevation.

In a related update, the Church also announced that the ongoing anointment exercise at the Celestial City in Imeko will not hold on Saturday, April 18, 2026. “The exercise will resume again on Monday, 20th April, 2026,” the statement said.

While no reason was officially given, a senior clergy member said, “This is a directive from the spiritual head, and we must align completely.”

Another member described the move as “a necessary step to preserve the sanctity of the rank.”

The embargo is expected to remain in place across all parishes pending further directive from the Church leadership.
