with lifelong ambitions to control the transport union

After much anticipation, the Lagos State Government has set up a Parks and Garages Management Committee to take over the functions of the suspended National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW).

The 25 man committee members released by the Lagos State Commissioner for Information and Strategy Gbenga Omotosho have MC Oluomo (Musiliu Akinsanya) as Chairman, Kudety (Sulyman B Ojora) as Deputy Chairman, and Seego (Mustapha Adekunle) as top men. Former police boss Hakeem Odumose (AIG Rtd) is named Government Liason Officer.

MC Oluomo, Kudety, and Seego are the three friends firmly in control of the Lagos state chapter of the NURTW before the supremacy tussle with National President Tajudeen Baruwa turned the arrangement on its head and Lagos Government announced the suspension of the transport union on March 11, 2022, in “an urgent need to douse the unnecessary tension generated by the leadership tussle in the NURTW and protect the citizenry from the likely fallout of the situation.”

They held the positions of Chairman (MC Oluomo) Vice Chairman (Kudety) and Treasurer (Seego) in the suspended Lagos NURTW.

The leaders of the NURTW on April 6, 2022, announced the sack of MC Oluomo and the dissolution of the Lagos State council with unionist Seyi Makinde named the new head in the face of unresolved differences.

Seego

Barely 24 hours later, the Lagos state government announced its Parks Management Committee with MC Oluomo and his friends as top men.

The three friends are members of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) and products of the political establishment in charge of the affairs of the state.

The move by the Babajide Sanwo-Olu administration fulfilled its declaration on March 11 that “The Government will set up a Committee to immediately take control of the parks and garages. Members of the committee will be key stakeholders in the sector.”

The development returned the three friends, with lifelong ambitions to control the transport union in Lagos state, to reckoning as they retained their former positions in the new arrangements (It is touted that Seego will function as the Treasurer of the new Parks Management Committee).

“The reality is that the Government needs influential players with perfect understanding of the terrain to make the new arrangement work and keep the peace. MC Oluomo, Seego and Kudety fit the bill. They are tailor-made for the new roles. They own the structures and loyalty of the major players on the field” SocietyNow.Ng gathered.

It is to the advantage of the trio that Kunle Poly (Kunle Lawal), one of the prominent faces of the NURTW leaders in Lagos state is battling a state instituted court case to free himself from troubles he got entangled with over the Idumota fracas that resulted in a death and loss of properties.
