Why I Was Not At The Swearing- In Of Commissioners By Gov Abiodun – Senator Odebiyi

Senator Tolu Odebiyi, reported to have snubbed the swearing-in of commissioners in Ogun state explains why he was absent at the event in a statement titled “Re: Osoba, Loyalists, Odebiyi Shun Abiodun’s Commissioners’ Swearing-In.”

The write up was brought to the attention of Sen. Tolu Odebiyi today and he is surprised his name was mentioned as part of a group that boycotted the swearing-in event of the newly appointed Commissioners and Special Advisers.

As an avid reader of the Punch Newspaper,  the Senator representing Ogun West Senatorial District and not Ogun East (as wrongly stated in the said story) is a bit disappointed that the writer got his facts wrong.

Only three days ago, Sen. Odebiyi was in Abeokuta with His Excellency Prince Dapo Abiodun MFR to swear in the new Judges in Ogun State. A colorful ceremony that was well attended. He also used the opportunity to inform the Governor that he was using the opportunity of the Senate recess to take a quick trip which the governor gladly obliged and that was what informed his absence from the swearing-in of the Commissioners.

The distinguished Senator is presently out of the country and could not have snubbed the event.

He would like to urge all our party faithful and readers of this Newspaper to ignore the insinuation that the write up is trying to portray and that he remains fully committed to this administration and supports the Governor in his decisions to move the state forward. We are all working towards the same goal in the overall interest of the state. And this must be our priority.

Meanwhile let us savour this historical moment of remarkable steps our brilliant governor Prince Dapo Abiodun MFR has made to increase the fortunes of our dear and resourceful people of Ogun state.

Signed, Sen. Tolu OdebiyiMedia Team.
