Why Ex-Gov Akala Is Now Called Guber Candidate Adelabu’s Henchman

All hands are on deck to make Adebayo Adelabu the next governor of Ogun state within the All Progressives Congress.

Powerful figures within the ruling APC in and out of Oyo state are intensely working for Adelabu’s victory in tomorrow’s gubernatorial election.

The decision to force Governor Abiola Ajimobi to the background of the campaign in order to avoid his senatorial defeat tainting efforts to secure victory for Adelabu’s shows how much sacrifice the party is willing to make to achieve its objective.

The luring back of former governor Adebayo Alao showcased the length Adelabu’s backers are willing to go to help him win tomorrow.

Checks by societynow.ng revealed that Akala was brought back based on negotiations that assured him to repayment of expenses he has incurred in his own campaign.

Akala dumped his own gubernatorial ambition to support Adelabu.

The negotiation is said to have also assured Akala of ‘’appointments ‘’ of his loyalists into the government to Adelabu – if the APC Governorship candidate wins.

‘’the juice in the whole deal is that Akala also secured assurance of federal appointment if he delivers the large votes in his stronghold of Ogbomoso to help Adelabu win’’ a source stated.

Insiders disclosed Akala immediately went to work by denying Seye Makinde, the main challenger of Adelabu avenues to talk to electorates.

Makinde is the gubernatorial candidate of the People’s Democratic Party and has become the adopted candidate of strong pillars of politics in oyo state including, former governor Rasheed Ladoja, Femi Lanlehin, Sharafadeen Alli and Bolaji Ayorinde (all gubernatorial flagbearers that sacrificed their ambition to support Makinde).

‘’It was a strategic move to mute Makinde in the bid to quickly halt further attempts to shore up his popularity. That is the strategy behind the widely published story of Akala preventing Makinde from appearing on a radio programme’’ a source disclosed.

Sources disclosed that Akala also ordered his loyalists to deny agents of Makinde related opportunities in their areas.
