Why Baba Ijesha Was Granted Bail

James Olanrewaju Omiyinka, the actor accused of sexual assault has been granted bail.

Societynow.ng gathered that the actor better known as Baba Ijesha secured bail on health grounds.

The actor was arrested by the police on April 19, 2021 based on complaint by colleague Princess Adekola Adekanye – and kept in custody as pressure mounts for his prosecution.

The on going strike by judicial workers which has shut down the courts prolonged his stay in detention.

The suspects lawyer, Adesina Ogunlana confirmed he has been granted bail in a report monitored by societynow.ng on punchng.com.

“He has been granted bail about one hour ago. We are working to perfect the bail. He was granted bail on health grounds. He has not been released. He will be released after his bail conditions have been met,” the lawyer was quoted in the report monitored by societynow.ng.

Information from other sources revealed the bail conditions as N500,000 and two sureties; a blood relation and a level 10 civil servant.
