Details available have it that, a very close watch is being kept on Governor of Lagos state Akinwunmi Ambode.

Societynow.ng learned the close watch on the governor is being done by political leader Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu and his political allies.

Ambode just lost out to the powerful group in the bid to retain the All Progressives Congress gubernatorial ticket as part of efforts to seek re-election.

The Tinubu group backed eventual winner Babajide Sannwo-Olu in the all-out – messy war.

Ambode’s men threatened defection to another party ahead of the gubernatorial primary that saw the governor publicly accused his opponent of jail time abroad and undergoing rehabilitation.

The Lagos governor accepted defeat after the primary and congratulated new man Sanwo-Olu as party’s gubernatorial candidate in Lagos state.

“But the talks of interest to retain his seat via another political party has refused to go away” societynow.ng learned.

Talks of silent negotiations by proxies and involvement with players in the targetted party by loyalists to achieve a possible last-minute emergence as the gubernatorial candidate are trending in political circles.

“Another version of the talks claim to attempt to play spoiler by giving his enemies a challenge that would make them have no time persecute him after office” another source claimed.

Societynow.ng learned that the most mentioned political party is Action Democratic Party.

Insiders claim that decision-makers in the Lagos chapter of the APC that worked to deny Ambode the gubernatorial ticket are taking these trending talks seriously – and already putting strategies in place to contain the possibilities while monitoring the governor closely to establish the talks.
