Why Abiodun’s Ex-Chief Of Staff Is Labelled Still In Charge
SocietyNow.Ng’s checks revealed the reason for the current perception
Salisu Shaib Afolabi, the former Chief of Staff of the Governor of Ogun State Dapo Abiodun is widely believed to still be in charge of the office.
Salisu resigned his appointment according to constitutional provisions to contest – and emerge – as the All Progressives Congress (APC) Senatorial candidate of Ogun Central for the 2023 election.
Observers of events however insist that Salisu remains as close to the Governor as ever and still carrying out “familiar” tasks.
This is said to be in the face of the appointment and recent confirmation of Deputy Chief of Staff Oluwatoyin Taiwo.
SocietyNow.Ng’s checks revealed the reason for the current perception surrounding the senatorial candidate.
Insiders confirmed that he is one of two persons extremely close to Governor Abiodun.

“There used to be three very influential persons in the current administration based on closeness to the Governor. They are Tunji Samson Egbetokun, Salisu Shaib Afolabi, and Tokunbo Talabi. Along the line, some things happened and only two retained their influences and they are Salisu and Talabi” SocietyNow.Ng gathered.
Egbetokun is the Senior Special Adviser on Political Matter, Salisu the Chief of Staff until recently, and Talabi the Secretary to the State Government.
Added information has it that Salisu’s resignation and emergence as the Senatorial candidate have not affected his closeness to Governor Abiodun or his influence in the government.
“He remains as close as ever to the center of power, getting things done and carrying out familiar tasks beyond the capacity of the office of the Chief of Staff, which was used to. That is why people say he remains in charge. They fail to realize that it is about the man and his closeness to the Governor not about the office he occupied” SocietyNow.Ng learned.
