The release of the video of council chairmen in Ogun state prostrating for Governor Dapo Abiodun has been traced to his camp.

A top aide in the crew handling social media perception has been fingered as the arrowhead of the move.

SocietyNow.Ng learned the objective of the move is to show that the Governor is firmly in charge of the affairs of the state and his party, the All Progressives Congress (APC).

“The Governor is fully in charge” the leader of the crew openly asserted to stem blowback over the leaked video on social media.

The council chairmen led by Babatunde Emilola-Gazal, from Ijebu-Ode, visited Abiodun last night to distance themselves from assertions against the Governor by one of them Wale Adedayo, and seek forgiveness.

They ended up prostrating for the Governor to forgive and forget the claims by Adedayo, the chairman of Ijebu-East local government that all the council areas have received zero allocations since 2021.

“Since we (Ogun State Local Government Chairmen) got on board in 2021, it has been ZERO Federal Allocation to each local government. The 10% of the state’s Internally Generated Revenue, which the Constitution also stipulated should go to the local governments has not been given since Abiodun got into office.” Adedayo had written in a letter to political leader Aremo Olusegun Osoba to convince the Governor to correct the situation.

The State government denied the claims and insisted that the Abiodun administration add to the allocation rather than take from it.

Adedayo’s fellow council chairmen also sided with the Governor at the meeting where the video of the genuflection attracting all manner of talks was done.
