Since he returned to the country after a prolonged medical trip, Sources disclosed Governor Rotimi Akeredolu has spent the larger portion of his time outside Ondo State.

He is mostly in Ibadan, Oyo State according to the information available.

“Akeredolu visited Ondo a couple of times after his return, he spends more time in Ibadan” SocietyNow.Ng learned.

Insiders say the strategy is to reduce the stress that comes with the engagements demanded by his office by limiting those who have access to him.

The Governor whose health condition remains the subject of intense speculation returned to Nigeria, after extended medical care abroad, on September 7, 2023.

He chose to stay at his private residence in Ibadan, instead of the Government House in Akure on his return.

The Deputy Governor – who was acting Governor while he was away – and the leadership of the Ondo State House of Assembly visited Akeredolu in Ibadan on September 8, 2023, and accepted his letter of resumption as Governor of Ondo State.

“That move set the tone for his engagements since then, he has virtually governed Ondo state from Ibadan since then, except for a couple of visits.” SocietyNow.Ng gathered.

This development is in the face of an unabated push for the removal of the Deputy Governor of Ondo State, Luck Aiyedatiwa – despite a court order stating otherwise.

The Ondo State House of Assembly has ordered the setting up of a panel as part of the process linked to the orchestration of a power group labeled power mongers out to have one of their own as the next Governor of Ondo State.

The move by the Ondo State House of Assembly to remove Aiyedatiwa from office started barely two weeks after Akeredolu returned from his medical trip.

The development notches up relentless attacks to force the Deputy Governor who insists on firm loyalty to Akeredolu out of office.
