Babalawo is the appellation Wale Adedayo, the grounded political analyst cum grassroot politician with strong roots in the media.

Adedayo’s involvement with Gani Adams – in the hey days of Oodua People’s Congress – and stong ties with tradition earned him the nickname ‘’Babalawo’’.

Insiders brand his appointment as a Media Consultant as Governor Abiodun getting his politics right.

The Governor is struggling to build a formidable structure in the midst of demands and ‘’blackmail’’ by the forces that brought him to power.

Adedayo who is regarded as the most powerful Chief Press Secretary ever in Ogun State, when he served with former Governor Gbenga Daniel is in need of a ‘’political benefactor’’.

Adedayo is not on the best of terms with ex-governor Gbenga Daniel and has not identified with any major political power in Ogun state, including immediate past Governor Ibikunle Amosun.

Babalawo as he is better known has a great understanding of the politics of Ogun State and is eyeing a chairmanship position in the next council election insiders confirm.

According to sources ‘’making Babalawo a Media Consultant to the Governor can be interpretted as an empowerment of sort and making him council chairman, with proper understandings reached, and such instances replicated in other parts of Ogun state would be a major move for Governor Abiodun in putting a loyal political structure in place ahead the 2023 gubernatorial election’’
