The handlers of the Governor of Ogun State, Dapo Abiodun have released a new video.
The video captures Abiodun mocking his political opponents after the tribunal validated his re-election as the Governor of Ogun State on Saturday, September 30, 2023.
The Governor chose the popular football song in Yoruba “Ati leri pe ama no won pa, pata pata, Ati leri pe ama no won pa, pata pata” (We have vowed to beat them totally, we vowed to beat them totally) to mock his opponents.
The video captured Ogun West Senator Olamilekan Adeola (Yayi) and his counterpart in Ogun Central Shuaib Afolabi (former Chief of Staff to Abiodun) and some other persons singing enthusiastically along with the Governor.
Abiodun won re-election by less than 15,000 votes margin in March 2023 and had his win challenged at the tribunal by Ladi Adebutu, the gubernatorial candidate of the People’s Democratic Party ((PDP) insisted otherwise.
Adebutu has announced the intention to appeal the decision of the Ogun State gubernatorial election tribunal.
Currently out of the country over claims of political persecution and threats to life, Adebutu has been declared a person of interest by the Nigeria Police for alleged roles in the March 2023 Ogun gubernatorial election.
