The true situation about the circumstances that got Ogun State Commissioner for Youth and Sports Oludare Sunday Kehinde into trouble has emerged.

Kayode while speaking with journalists spoke ill of former governor of Ogun state Aremo Olusegun Osoba.

The commissioner asserted the former governor has failed to build any political legacy compared to Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

Societynow.ng, however, gathered that the commissioner made the statements in passing in the course of his discussion with the journalists.

‘’Kehinde actually didn’t set out to malign Osoba, he just got carried away while discussing with the media men. He made the statements while referencing other things, especially efforts by Governor Abiodun to put in place a worthy legacy’’ societynow.ng learned.

‘’The commissioners mistake, like many other who have fallen into such a ditch, was that he got so deep into conversation with the journalists he lowered his guard and felt he was talking to friends who would help him to edit comments that would embarrass him and not newshounds out for juicy quotes to drive traffic’’ a source explained.

Subsequent events showed that to the agony of the commissioner, some of the journalists took their stories from his passing but offensive comments about Osoba.

‘’The fact that the comments attracted a lot of interests as oppositions to the Dapo Abiodun administration feasted on it and slanted it in a manner that it represented the thoughts of the governor created more trouble for the commissioner’’ societynow.ng gathered.

‘’That was why the governor had to issue a strong statement that distanced self from the embattled commissioner and talked up the position of Osoba as a well respected political leader in Ogun state’’ societynow.ng learned.

Insiders disclosed that the Governor disowned the commissioner to protect the coalition of political forces that brought him to power.

Societynow.ng gathered that before the mess created by the embattled commissioner with his unguarded statements, there had been talks that the Osoba group – which is the initial support of the gubernatorial ambition of Abiodun – has been sidelined since the governor took office and an uneasy rapport of sort existed between the governor and members of the group.

‘’The unguarded comments by the commissioner would have fueled political discord between the governor and the Osoba group, if not for the quick move by Abiodun to repair the damage by disowning the commissioner and pledging allegiance to Osoba’’ a source asserted.

Societynow.ng gathered to further show he wasn’t paying lip service in dealing with the situation the governor has suspended the commissioner for youths and sports.
