The embattled Oluwo of Iwo Oba Abdulrasheed Adewale Akanbi is fighting his suspension by the council of traditional rulers in Osun state.

The troubled king says ‘’ He was never suspended as the Oluwo of Iwoland.  Osun State Traditional Council has only recommended his suspension from the council meetings and activities for six months’’.

The Iwo king maintains ‘’that is even subject to Governor’s approval’’.

The Oluwo is fighting his suspension through self-serving public awareness – statements –  and lobbying hard behind the scene to ensure the deciders of his fate in the corridors of power show him a favor.

The Osun state council of traditional rulers with the Ooni of Ife Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi as Chairman suspended Oluwo for fighting in public and assaulting a fellow King, the Agbowu of Ogbaagba Oba Sikirulai Aderopo.

The Iwo king is also accused of a series of actions that demean his crown.
