Three members of a group of African entertainers and creative experts who are raising awareness about malaria through an innovative campaign will, this week, grace the studios of African Voices Changemakers.

They are Laolu Senbanjo, a New York-based Nigerian artist; Meji Alabi, a British-Nigerian Music Video Director and versatile Nollywood diva, Omotola Jalade Ekeinde, popularly called Omo Sexy by her fans.

Jalade-Ekeinde, 43, is actress, singer and mother of three and one of the pioneers of the video film era of Nigerian cinema.

She is acclaimed as one of the most watched actresses in Africa who was in 2013 name in Time magazine’s list of the 100 most influential people in the world alongside Michelle Obama, Beyoncé and Kate Middleton. In 2014, she was honoured as a Member of the Order of the Federal Republic, MFR for her contributions to the Nigerian film industry.

Senbanjo, 38, was a rights attorney who travelled round the Northern parts of Nigeria soliciting for the education of the girl-child and the inclusion of women in the nation’s political life.

He later relocated to Brooklyn, New York where his talents as a visual artist, musician and songwriter got further accentuated and is reputed for designing global music icon, Beyoncé’s visual album, Lemonade.

Music merchant, Alabi, was largely influenced by diverse cultures from London, Texas and Lagos where he grew up. He is reputed especially for his music videos and works with Beyoncé, Wizkid, Tiwa Savage, Burna Boy among others. He was an awardee, Nigeria Entertainment Award for Music Video of the Year (Director) 2019 and nominee of The Headies Award for Best Music Video, 2019, City People Music Award for Music Video Director of the Year, 2018.

The 30-minute programme of the Cable News Network (CNN) will be on the DSTV channel 401 from Saturday 9.30 a.m., Sunday 4.30a.m, 7.30a.m, 12. 30 p.m., 7.30 p.m. and Monday 5.30 a.m. The programme will also be repeated in two instalments of 15minutes each on Tuesday at 6.45p.m and Wednesday at the same time.
