Tinubu!…Behind The Scene Details Of Lagos Assembly Probe Of Corruption Allegations Against Speaker Obasa

After many underground maneuvers, a probe panel has been set up by the Lagos State House of Assembly to look into the massive allegations of corruption against the Speaker, Mudashiru Obasa.

The speaker appeared before the panel yesterday – Saturday, June 7, 2020 – and responded to the corruption allegations.

The information available to societynow.ng, however, revealed that before Obase appeared before the Honorable Victor Akande led 9-man probe panel, he had faced his accusers within the Lagos State House of Assembly at another ‘’panel’’ – that one Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

Sources disclosed that ‘’Asiwaju summoned Obasa and the lawmakers that are aggrieved with him, the ones he demoted and suspended. And the two sides faced each other at Tinubu’s house, the face-off held in that week the Governors came to meet with Asiwaju about Obaseki’s second term.’’

Societynow.ng gathered that the aggrieved lawmakers repeated their allegations against Obasa, including the ones not in the public space.

‘’They confronted the speaker with all they had on him and told Tinubu that Obasa persecuted them because of his ambition to amass power and have total control of the Lagos State House of Assembly. The speaker was also accused of dropping Tinubu’s several times to have his way’’ societynow.ng learned.

Insiders disclosed that Obasa stated his side of the ‘’issues’’ rocking the Lagos Assembly but Tinubu expressed dissatisfaction about how the Speaker handled things.

‘’Asiwaju was particularly miffed about the instances his name was dropped to get the members of the legislative body to back the Speaker. He told Obasa to go and clear the mess while instructing the aggrieved members to keep their grouses in-house because of the smear the situation is splashing on the House, the Government, and APC’’ societynow.ng gathered.

Sources disclosed that Obasa immediately went to work on the suggestions made by Tinubu at the ‘’ meeting’’ for peace to reign.

Insiders disclosed that one of the results of that particular meeting with Tinubu – and subsequent moves by Obasa – is the probe panel of the Lagos State House of Assembly that sat on Saturday, away from public glare.

Sources also disclosed that aside from the ‘’probe’’ by the Lagos state House of Assembly, the Speaker has another ‘’panel’’ set up by the All Progressives Congress to contend with.
