On the day FAYEMI got his stolen mandate back in Ekiti, I remember how K1 was singing OMO FAYE…OMO FAYEMI on stage and Rauf AREGBESOLA was dancing too and K1 saw him, he said “By the grace of Almighty God, we will be celebrating you in Osun too very soon, your mandate will be restored”…

And few weeks after, the Court of Appeal sitting in Ibadan sacked General Oyinlola of the PDP having stolen the mandate of the People FREELY given to AREGBESOLA of the AC….The darkness that pervaded the Osun Politics in 2003, through a massively rigged election that sacked one of the most incorruptible human being to ever venture into politics in Nigeria BISI AKANDE, was cleared by Rauf and since then, the LIGHT has been so bright that the darkness comprehend it not!

But before that judgment of the Court of Appeal, Osun Progressive Politicians saw hell, they were brutalised, vandalised and murdered by the eccentric political gangsterism bent on silencing the people. They were days when AREGBESOLA would enter Osun inside a coffin in order to avoid the General Prince Ambush. His mother wasn’t spared in Ilesha too. People like Adeoti of Iwo almost lost their lives and it was like the hope of democracy’s survival in Osun is gone! The battle royal was led by ASIWAJU BOLA AHMED TINUBU who assembled the best lawyers and brought the best forensic expert that later unraveled the fraud PDP perpetrated in 2003….

Oyinlola was on the road when he got the news that the RING OWNER has taken his RING. He sped off to OKUKU. IFE A FEWE. However, the state House was looted to the ground, even used plates were stolen. But to God be the glory.

Osun’s glorious Return to Democracy is the strongest among its peers in the SW like Ekiti and Ondo. That of Ekiti only lasted for 4 years before PDP returned back, in Ondo, Mimiko willingly gave it to PDP but Akeredolu got it back.

In Osun, RAUF is ruthless and PDP know this. Their Ekiti joy was cut short in 2014 by Rauf and OSUN became the first state to give APC victory in Nigeria. Thanks to RAUF and all Progressives there. A lot of people would have left APC had the party lost in Osun. Where APC is today had its root in Rauf’s most important 2014 victory .

2018 was another critical moment for the Progressives in Osun, while Ekiti was retrieved, the disaffection among APC members was a big worry in Osun, however ILERI OLUWA came to pass and OYETOLA won by a razor blade sharp margin affirmed by the Supreme Court and AREGBESOLA again became the first Governor in the SW apart from Lagos to handover to another Progressive….THIS is Unprecedented!

The 10 years of unstoppable Progressive Democratic Movement in Osun is a joy to some of us who were there in the beginning, the Two years of Oyetola which is a subset of the 10 years is equally worthy of celebration because without Oyetola victory, a Disco Dancing non challant would be doing experiment in Osun by now….today marks 2 year that Osun dodged that bullet.
