Societynow.ng’s sources confirmed that internet fraudsters popularly called Yahoo Boys are skipping town.

And this development is attributed to the arrest of Dubai based bureau de change operator Mompha.

Dubai based Mompha – real names Ismaila Mustapha- was arrested by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) on Thursday, October 17  in Abuja, on his way out of Nigeria as part of an investigation into a widespread case of money laundering.

The arrest was reportedly at the instance of the Interpol (International Police).

The EFCC claims Mompha has made ‘’useful statements and confirmed some of the cases he was arrested for’’.

Societynow.ng learned that Yahoo Boys, especially those on the radar of the EFCC, are skipping town because Mompha truly knows ‘’where the bodies are buried’’ in a lot of Major internet frauds.

‘’Mompha is a colletor. He receives funds for boys and uses his status as a Bureau de Change operator to help them escape detection for a fee. Mompha takes a huge percentage on the money the guys make.

Of course, he has his deals that he ‘’runs’’ once in a while a source claimed.

‘’He is popular in the Yahoo community, many of the big boys deal with him and this put him in the heart of many deals and position to know about many that he is not directly involved with as well’’ societynow.ng learned.

Societynow.ng gathered that ‘’Yahoo Boys’’ who have had direct or indirect contact with Mompha are currently skipping town and going to the mattress (underground) until they are sure of their footings in the circumstances decorating the arrest of the ‘’highly connected collector’’.

Mompha rose to public consciousness with his excessive show of wealth with outlandish acquisitions that spans automobiles, jewelry, attires and stays in luxury hotels and expensive resorts all over the world.
