Thanks To Fayemi… It’s Major Trouble For Tinubu’s Candidate Oyetola In Osun

Information available has it that there is emerging moves to disqualify Gboyega Oyetola, the preferred choice of Governor Rauf Aregbesola from the upcoming All Progressives Congress gubernatorial primary election.

Oyetola who is the step-brother of Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu – the primary force behind his gubernatorial ambition – is the Chief of Staff to the outgoing Governor Aregbesola.

He retains his position as he prepares to contest in the make or mar Osun gubernatorial primary scheduled for Saturday, July 7, 2018.

“There is a growing movement to have him disqualified based on retaining government appointment in the run in to an election” a source disclosed.

Societynow.ng gathered that opposition to Oyetola’s continuing employment by the state is a two-pronged faction.

There are said to be those that are latching on to alleged constitutional provision of resignation 30 days before an election.

Though those who should know insist the constitution is clear, that the provision is “30 days before a general election”.

Societynow.ng gathered the other leg of the opposition is borrowing a leaf from the situation of Ekiti state All Progressives Congress candidate Kayode Fayemi.

Gubernatorial aspirant Segun Oni has gone to court to contest the “correctness” of Fayemi retaining his position as Minister while prosecuting campaign to become party candidate.

Insiders disclosed the same “situation” is being mirrored against Oyetola in Osun state.

“But in this case, petitions are being forwarded to the National Executive led by new chairman Adams Osiomhole to disqualify Oyetola” a source disclosed.rauf aregbesola

“What is not clear is how far the opposition is willing to go, whether they will make the situation to come back to haunt Oyetola like it is haunting Fayemi or not” another source stated.

The Osun state gubernatorial election is scheduled for September 22, 2018.
