Talk-Of-The-Town Remo Reps Aspirant Oladipo Spotted at Alaperu’s Burial
the former Speaker of Ogun Stat
Muyiwa Oladipo, the talk-of-the-town House of Representatives aspirant, was spotted at the burial of respected monarch Oba Adeleke Idowu-Basibo, the Alaperu of Iperu, Remo, Ogun State.
Oba Idowu-Basibo was laid to rest on Friday, February 21, 2025, in his domain.
Oladipo, the former Speaker of Ogun State, who is at the forefront of the race to determine the next occupier of the Remo House of Representatives seat, was one of the high-profile guests at the event.
He joined other notable indigenes of Ogun State to pay his last respects to the monarch, who brought enviable development to his domain, which is also the hometown of Governor Dapo Abiodun.

Sources disclosed that Oladipo shared space with Ogun State commissioners like Ola Orekoya (Environment), Femi Ilori-Oduntan (Rural Development), and Funmi Efuwape (Special Duties and Intergovernmental Affairs).
“They all had a couple of chats in the course of the programme,” according to a source.
The Remo House of Representatives seat that Oladipo seeks to take over oversees the interests of the Ikenne/Sagamu/Remo North Federal Constituency in the National Assembly.
It was formerly occupied by Adewunmi Onanuga, the immediate past Deputy Chief Whip of the House of Representatives, popularly called Ijaya.
The seat became vacant following the demise of Ijaya on January 15, 2025. She was buried on Friday, January 24, 2025.
The former Speaker, who was also at different times the Ogun State Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, is believed to be a frontrunner in the House of Representatives race due to his strong pedigree in legislative matters and governance—as well as his reputation as a politician known for his candor.
