Evelyn Joshua, the inheritor of the position of Pastor of the Synagogue Church of All Nations (SCOAN) has refused to be drawn into claims of a promise of 8mlliion votes for the presidential candidate of the Labour Party (LP) Peter Obi in the 2023 election.

Supporters of Obi widely known as “the Obidients” have been decorating the social media space with the claims.

They insist on multiple platforms that Evelyn who took over as the pastor of the Synagogue – as SCOAN is informally known –after the death of the founder and her husband, Pastor Temitope Balogun Joshua (famously known as Pastor T.B Joshua )in June 2021 has promised to give Obi 8milion votes from her ministry.

There has been no “proof” provided to back the claims just “replicas” of the same message shared across different platforms.

And the new Pastor at the Synagogue has refused to be drawn into the claims.

Pastor Evelyn and SCOAN have refused to entertain questions on the claims and have also not put out any confirmation or rebuttal on any of the church’s social media platforms.

SCOAN since the days of Pastor T.B Joshua is known to pass across its messages on its own media platforms including Facebook, Twitter, and the television station – Emmanuel T.V.

The church with headquarters in Ikotun Egbe, Lagos has, however, turned a blind eye to the claims regarding its pastor and Peter Obi.

However, in June 2022, SCOAN posted on its social media platform “Our attention has been drawn to various social media posts falsely claiming that Pastor Evelyn Joshua has prophesied victory for a certain candidate in the 2023 Nigerian general elections. Please disregard the posts, as no such prophecy was given by Pastor Evelyn Joshua. We also want to remind you that every authentic message from The SCOAN is given only on Emmanuel TV and all our social media handles.”

The statement was made before the claims regarding the SCOAN pastor and the 8 million votes for Peter Obi became popular.
