Kwankwaso Showers Peter Obi With Praise At 65, Says He Inspires Millions

Former Kano State Governor and national leader of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, has paid glowing tribute to the presidential candidate of the National Democratic Coalition (NDC), Peter Obi, as he marked his 65th birthday, describing him as a leader whose dedication continues to inspire millions of Nigerians.
Kwankwaso, who is Obi’s running mate on the NDC presidential ticket ahead of the 2027 general election, celebrated the former Anambra State governor for what he described as a lifetime of service, integrity and principled leadership.
“On this auspicious day, I extend my warmest felicitations to my brother, His Excellency Peter Obi, on the occasion of his 65th birthday,” Kwankwaso said.
He praised Obi’s character and leadership style, saying, “Throughout his remarkable life of service and leadership, Mr. Obi has consistently distinguished himself as a man of exceptional enterprise, deep conviction, and personal integrity. His humility and modesty remain exemplary in a world that often celebrates excess.”
The former Kano governor also reaffirmed his political partnership with Obi, describing him as “an outstanding ally and a principled voice.”
“As our candidate on the presidential ticket of the NDC, he has been an outstanding ally and a principled voice whose dedication continues to inspire millions of Nigerians across the country,” he added.
Kwankwaso prayed for Obi’s continued good health and strength as the opposition figures continue their political engagement ahead of the next general election.
“I wish him robust health, continued strength, and greater impact as he presses on in his unwavering commitment to the progress and good of our nation.
“Happy 65th Birthday, my dear brother, Peter Obi.” Kwankwaso further wrote.
Obi, a former governor of Anambra State and the Labour Party’s presidential candidate in the 2023 election, is widely regarded as one of Nigeria’s leading opposition figures.
His alliance with Kwankwaso under the NDC has attracted significant political attention as both leaders seek to build a broad-based coalition ahead of the 2027 presidential election.
