Strong Opposition Comes For Sanwoolu’s Lagos Guber Ambition From Unexpected Quarter!

Jide Sanwoolu may well be adjudged the new bride of the leadership of the All Progressives Congress in Lagos state, but it is certainly not yet a home run for the albatross of Governor Akinwunmi Ambode.

Insiders disclosed a strong opposition is coming the way of the man on the lips of many as the next Governor of Lagos state.

Obafemi Hamzat is quietly mustering support ahead of the All Progressives Congress gubernatorial candidate in Lagos state societynow.ng learned.

Hamzat and Sanwoolu emerged as the major threats to the re-election bid of Governor Akinwunmi Ambode.

All eyes have turned to Sanwoolu as the main contender based on the caliber of party leaders that announced his gubernatorial ambition.

Shell-shocked Ambode’s men have become engulfed in an uncoordinated self-help campaign to save their principal’s sinking re-election attempt.

Sources, however, claim while the Sanwoolu and Ambode camps feast the public with antics to stay ahead, Hamzat – and his backers – has gone deep underground trying to swing things their way.

Societynow.ng learned Hamzat appears to have the support of the “Abuja crowd” which has been making things happen in the southwest zone within the APC.

“And they are working very hard to ensure Hamzat becomes the party gubernatorial candidate in Lagos state” societynow.ng learned.

The Abuja crowd with Minister Babatunde Fashola as one the prime mover in Lagos state is known to be at odds with the political interest of Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

“With Ambode in the cold, it’s going to be a clear fight between the Abuja people and Tinubu camp to determine party candidate” a source stated.

Societynow.ng learned that one of the emerging campaign tricks is the comparison between the characters of Hamzat and Sanwoolu.

Hamzat is labeled very nice, extremely nice and Sanwoolu tagged “just a step above Ambode”.
