“Sponsored To Further Damage Him” Insiders Claim Ex Minister Musiliu Obanikoro Met With Asiwaju Bola Tinubu But It Wasn’t About Dumping PDP For APC
Fresh information reveal the rash of reports about former minister Musiliu Obanikoro dumping the People’s Democratic Party for the All Progressives Congress may be incorrect.
And there appears an ulterior motive to it.
A source very close to the former minister of state for defence confirms there was indeed a meeting between Musiliu Obanikoro and Asiwaju Bola Tinubu – but it wasn’t about dumping one political party for another.
“he was invited and he went out of respect” the source claimed.
The source who chose to silent on the specific reason for the meeting between the two politicians heavy asserts the objective of the reports “to further damage” Obanikoro.
Checks revealed national publication The Nation first came to town with the news of Obanikoro’s planned defection to APC. Ownership of the Newspaper is constantly linked to Asiwaju Bola Tinubu.
But sources close to Obanikoro insist “he has not moved to APC and would not move”
Further revelations have it that before the recent meeting which sparked off defection controversy, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu and Musiliu Obanikoro have met quietly twice before now – since the former minister switched sides -, in 2007 and 2015.
Obanikoro is said to have chosen not to officially respond to the speculations of defections because, he doesn’t to want to give the talks legitimacy.
