“Go Bow Before Pepper!” Insiders Reveal Option Available To Obanikoro In Senatorial Fight

It appears former minister Musiliu Obanikoro needs to stoop to conquer.

And he needs to adopt this posture, as soon as possible, if wants the much-coveted Lagos West Senatorial ticket.

Societynow.ng gathered that powerful politician Bayo Osinowo – famously known as Pepper – stands between Obanikoro and his senatorial dream.

‘’Pepper is passionately against Obanikoro becoming a Senator or amounting to much in APC and is using Obanikoro’s defection to the PDP and how he was a thorn in the side of the Asiwaju (Bola Tinubu) political family for years as campaign points’’ societynow.ng learned.

Insiders confirmed that but for Pepper, Obanikoro should be a Senator representing Lagos West.

‘’Asiwaju gave the go-ahead for the APC Senatorial ticket (in Lagos West) ticket to be given to Obanikoro but Pepper spearheaded the campaign against, that it was bad for morale of other party members and that Asiwaju may be laying foundation for a bigger disappointment, especially now that things are not like before and there is need to keep a very tight ship’’ societynow.ng gathered.

Further revelation has it that Asiwaju eventually gave in to the ‘’compelling’’ talks and agreed to allow Yayi (Solomon Olamilekan Solomon) to retain his seat – after the latter’s misadventure to become the Governor of Ogun state.

‘’That is why Asiwaju insisted Obanikoro’s son Jide should be given the ticket that transformed him into a Federal House of Representatives member’’ societynow.ng learned.

Information at hand revealed that already Pepper is in the thick of another arrangement to determine whether Yayi secures another term or another person takes over the seat in 2023, with Obanikoro certainly not in the picture.

The investigation conducted by societynow.ng revealed that, as things stand, Pepper’s influence in the Asiwaju political family is only rivaled by that of Minister for Interior Rauf Aregbesola.

‘’ That is why, though he may have the ears of Asiwaju, if Obanikoro wants to get that Senatorial ticket he needs to go and talk to Pepper, plead with Senator pepper and a bow of a sort to power to get what he wants’’ an insider disclosed.
