Soured Alliance….Inside Details As Omisore Finally Cuts Ties With APC, Firmly Back In Opposition

Ex-Senator Iyiola Omisore is firmly back in opposition against the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).

‘’Omisore is firmly back in the Social Democratic Party(SDP)’’ societynow.ng learned.

Omisore, the gubernatorial candidate of the SDP opted to team up with the ruling APC against his former party People’s Democratic Party (PDP) to enable incumbent governor Gboyega Oyetola win the last gubernatorial election in Osun State.

Omisore, however, was unable to get the leadership of the APC to fulfill promises that lured him into the alliance, especially getting the APC ticket to return to the Senate.

In a bid to get the ruling party to fulfill its promises Omisore was seen publicly hobnobbing with the leaders of the APC and did not debunk reports he had defected.

Insiders disclosed to societynow.ng that Omisore was pressured to ‘’officially’’ join the APC before promises made were fulfilled but he refused, insisting it has to be the other way – as initially agreed.

After he failed to also clinch a federal appointment for self and loyalists in the ruling party, Omisore is said to have retraced steps back to SDP.

Insiders disclosed that a big pointer to this is the removal of his political foe Bayo Fatoriji as Chairman of the SDP in Osun state and the emergence of Omisore’s political associate Sola Oladeinde as Caretaker Chairman.

Oladehinde, a popular politician in Osun state – and former commissioner – has been appointed to resolve the internal crisis rocking the SDP in Osun state.

‘’Part of the crisis is the raging face-off between Omisore and Fatoriji’’ societynow.ng learned.

Insiders disclosed Omisore was favorably disposed to the emergence of Oladeinde as the new SDP chairman in Osun state and as sided with moves to make peace in the bid to transform the party into a major opposition to the ruling APC.

‘’This development will naturally help Omisore to regain firm hold as the leader of the SDP in Osun state, because truly he remains the only politician in their fold that can give much needed visibility and funding ’’ a source asserted.
