The Chairman of the Senate Committee on Appropriations and Senator representing Ogun West Senatorial District, Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola, CON, FCA (YAYI), has empowered 3,000 market women and men from Ogun Central Senatorial District with grants of ₦75,000 each under the 5th Market Women/Men Support Fund Empowerment Programme.

Speaking at the event in Abeokuta, Senator Adeola said the initiative is aimed at strengthening small businesses, boosting grassroots economic development, and cushioning the effects of the current economic realities on traders. He noted that the programme, implemented in partnership with the National Productivity Centre, aligns with the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, and is a grant, not a loan.

The Senator also highlighted his sustained investments in market infrastructure, including the construction of modern markets, installation of solar-powered boreholes and streetlights, as well as the ongoing construction of two ultra-modern markets in Ogun Central. He reaffirmed his commitment to expanding economic opportunities for market women and men across Ogun State through continuous empowerment and infrastructure development.
