Saraki’s Wish For IBB On 84th Birthday

Former Senate President, Dr. Bukola Saraki, has congratulated Nigeria’s former Military President, General Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida , as he clocks 84 today, Sunday, August 17, 2025.

In a goodwill message shared on his Facebook page, Saraki described the former leader as a statesman whose reflections continue to inspire conversations about Nigeria’s future.

He noted that over the years, he had been privileged to share many moments of reflection with Babangida, and what stood out in those encounters was the retired General’s consistent belief that Nigeria’s destiny rests on the imagination and determination of its younger generation.

“As he celebrates this birthday in the company of his family and friends, I pray that Almighty Allah (SWT) continues to bless him with good health, wisdom, and peace of mind. Ameen,” Saraki wrote.

General Babangida, fondly known as IBB, served as Nigeria’s Military President from 1985 to 1993 and remains one of the country’s most influential political figures.
