Saraki’s Friends Scamper As EFCC Closes In On Embattled Senate President

Emerging details have it that the loyalty of the close friends and associates of embattled Senate President Bukola Saraki is currently being tested.

And information filtering in has it that it appears the loyalty of many of them may not stand the test of time.

Anti-corruption agency, Economic and Financial Crimes Commission just came hard on the embattled Saraki.

The agency seized some of Saraki’s properties on Friday – May10, 2019 – as part of intense scrutiny into the affairs of the Senate President, especially the period he was the governor of Kwara state.

Details As EFCC Comes After Saraki

The EFCC is said to be keeping strict surveillance on Saraki who holds a British passport, ahead the may 29 2019 handover date, as part of the investigation.

‘’The seizure of his properties and the growing knowledge that EFCC is keeping Saraki under surveillance has scared a good number of his friends and associates away’’ an insider disclosed to societynow.ng.

Societynow.ng learned that friends and associate have now started distancing selves from Saraki to avoid having a taste of his troubles with EFCC.

Saraki defected from the People’s Democracy Party to contribute enormously to the ruling All Progressives Congress takeover of power from his former party.
He secured the Senate President position as an APC member with the support of PDP Senators- became a thorn in the side of the administration – against the wishes of core leaders of his party.

Saraki later defected to back to the PDP as election nears in the bid to retain his position.

He was, however, trounced in an unprecedented campaign against the political family he heads.
