Outgoing Governor of Lagos State Akinwunmi Ambode is doing everything possible to maximize his `newly found influence with President Muhammadu Buhari.

Societynow.ng learned that at stake for Ambode is the strong possibility of a federal appointment.

Insiders insist that Ambode wants to be seen as working all these past four years and portray refusing to allow him another term in office is not about performance but bad politics.

Ambode was denied the ticket to another term in office after a major fallout with Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, the man that helped him to the office of governor.

Sources disclosed that Tinubu had instructed Ambode not to commission any project but quietly leave office as governor in order not to further alienate the political forces that helped him to power.

But Ambode is having none of that. The Governor is said to be seriously hunting for a federal appointment.
