Re-Elected Obaseki Reveals Why He Cannot Return To APC

Re-elected Governor of Edo State, Godwin Obaseki has revealed why he cannot return to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).

Obaseki defected from the APC which provided him the platform to win a first term in office over the inability to secure a second term ticket.

He left the APC to become the gubernatorial candidate of the rival People’s Democratic Party (PDP) for Saturday, September 19, 2020, Edo Governorship election which he won.

In the face of a rumor of a possible return based on claims that associate his victory to such an arrangement with certain powerful elements within the APC, the Governor says such a move would be ‘’immoral’’ societynow.ng learned.

Obaseki asserted after he met with President Muhammadu Buhari earlier today.

The governor was on a ‘’Thank You’’ visit to the president for providing an enabling environment to a free and fair election that helped retain his seat.

Obaseki commented ‘’immoral ‘’ to return to APC in a brief engagement with newsmen after he met with President Buhari.
