The Presidency has educated former Vice President Atiku Abubakar on the questions he raised concerning the $3.3Billion crude oil pre-payment loan known as Project Gazelle facilitated by the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPC Limited).

Atiku on Thursday, January 25, 2024, declared that the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu “owes Nigerians an explanation for the NNPC $3.3bn emergency loan. ” while asserting that ” The curious thing about this transaction is that up till now, the Federal Government continues to keep mum about it, and the only information available to the public on the mega deal is coming only through unofficial sources from the NNPC.”.

Atiku who was the flagbearer of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) for the February 25, 2023 Presidential election won by President Bola Tinubu made his position known in a post on social media platform X.

Checks, however, revealed that the former Vice President’s assertions are contrary to reality.

And the Presidency through the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Digital Communications, Otega Ogra, educated Atiku on this.

“Dear VP @atiku (1999 – 2007),, President Bola Tinubu’s administration has taken the time to educate all Nigerians further on the loan at various times – the latest being four days ago.” Ogra reacted to Atiku on the same platform.

And furnished him with proof by adding that “Here is a tweet from the Presidency’s Official Handle – x.com/ngrpresident/s…

The Presidential aide went on to request Atiku’s opinion from a more informed perspective with the request that “We also enjoin you, sir, to please share your thoughts on the medium post, which is more comprehensive, here: https://theasovilla.medium.com/you-asked-we-explain-what-you-need-to-know-about-nnpcs-us-3-3bn-loan-project-gazelle-a0187c42afe4

Thank you, Your Excellency.”.

The most recent enlightenment made by the Presidency on the $3.3Billion crude oil pre-payment loan known as Project Gazelle – through the NNPC Limited – was on January 21, 2024, and also published by SocietyNow.Ng

Added checks revealed that before this, a round of education was also made in August 2023.
