The Nigerian Police has provided a major reason it has no hand in the blockade of the convoy of the Senate President, Bukola Saraki yesterday – July 25 2018.

The Senate President’s residence was besieged by policemen and his convoy blocked from moving out on the day he was invited by the police for questioning.

The Senate President was said to have abandoned his vehicle and walked to the national assembly from his Maitama residence to oversee defection of 15 Senators from the ruling People’s Democratic Party to the Ruling All Progressives Congress.

But police spokesperson Jimoh Moshood while speaking on the development during Channels Television early morning programme Sunrise Daily denies the involvement of the police command in the ‘’blockade of the Senate President’s convoy’’ and provided major reason ‘’if we (police) are involved he wouldn’t be able to go to the Senate’’.

The Police spokesperson said the force is investigating how the ‘’blockade development’’ came to be.

Though shying from making categorical statements until the facts of the case are established after investigation, Moshood pointed fingers at the Senate President’s ADC as possibly behind the development.

Societynow.ng gathered the unofficial narrative being pushed out by those sympathetic to cause of the police is that the Senate President and his handlers allegedly scripted the development to stop his going to force headquarters and make it look like the government is persecuting him.
