Plot To Pitch Akeredolu’s Dep Aiyedatiwa Against Tinubu Begins
putting Ondo state on edge is unfolding
A new angle to what has become a regular plot putting Ondo state on edge is unfolding.
Borrowing from the textbook of the game plan that shredded the rapport between Governor Rotimi Akeredolu and Deputy Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa, power mongers have put another plan into play.
The objective of the new move is to pitch Aiyedatiwa against President Bola Tinubu.
President Tinubu on Friday brokered an-all-round-negotiation that shutdown impeachment moves against Aiyedatiwa and secured an agreement among all stakeholders that was supposed to put the Deputy Governor in charge of the affairs of the state while Akeredolu who is battling ill-health retains the title of Governor till the end of his tenure.

“But those who have hijacked the Government and profiting from Akeredolu’s loosen grasp on government have started a vigorous push back to stop the implementation of the agreement brokered by the President. And they have started with a familar theme – painting Aiyedatiwa not just black but as the aggressor about town” according to those in the know.
Checks revealed that just like it happened in putting a wedge between Aiyedatiwa and Akeredolu, statements and reports themed the Deputy Governor is mobilizing against Akeredolu and the dictates of the President have started surfacing.

“But the criticial question should be why would Aiyedatiwa who was saved from impeachment and placed on an improved pedestral of power by the agreement brokered by the President move against the person whose intervention bailed him out of trouble. The most powerful person in his party and the country, whose continuing support he needs more than any other” the Deputy Governor’s sympathizers are asking.
Aside the control of the Ondo state Government, another major reason those against Aiyedatiwa are out for him is to determine who succeeds Akeredolu.

The next Ondo state gubernatorial election is fixed for next year – 2024 -and underground moves to determine the governorhship candidate of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) is on.
Aiyedatiwa as a potential candidate stands a great chance as Deputy Governor which is why those profiting from Akeredolu’s illness – and are keen to have one of their own as his successor – want him out or severely caged at all cost.
