Video: “I Will Not Be Intimidated” – Philip Shaibu Reacts To Impeachment With “Heavy Heart But Resolute Spirit”

The Deputy Governor of Edo State, Philip Shaibu has reacted to his impeachment by the Edo State House of Assembly.

Shaibu’s reaction came via a video he posted on his verified social media page.

Here is the video in which he admitted “a heavy heart but resolute spirit” and “denounced in strongest term the illegal impeachment by the Edo State House of Assembly over trumped up charges” and also posited “history will judge harshly” the state lawmakers involved.

The impeachment is the latest episode in the soured relationship between Governor Godwin Obaseki and Deputy Governor Shaibu less than four years after they worked together to take political power from their leader Adams Oshiomhole and handed the latter the most humiliating defeat of his political life.
