Biyi Otegbeye, the gubernatorial candidate of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) for the February 25, 2023, gubernatorial election in Ogun state has identified some of the major things he would do differently if elected.

Otegbeye who is enjoying the tremendous support of the political structure of Senator Ibikunle Amosun disclosed that he will revive “abandoned legacy projects”.

The ADC gubernatorial candidate stated his position at the palace of the Olu of Odeda, Oba David Olusola during his campaign tour.

According to a statement issued by Raheem Ajayi, the Director of Media and Publicity of the Biyi Otegbeye Campaign Council, the gubernatorial candidate accused the incumbent administration of Governor Dapo Abiodun of abandoning the projects.

Abiodun who wants a second term in office is the gubernatorial candidate of ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) for the February 25, 2023 election.

“For example, an airport was scheduled already in the Wasinmi area of Egbaland and preliminary works ongoing, but was systematically killed for reasons that are not clear till today”. Otegbeye alleged at the palace of the Olu of Odeda, Ogun Central.

Insisting that the Wasinmi airport project was being funded by the Federal Government, He asserted that it did not have to be stopped because the State Government wanted to build another.

“The two airports, which are of different typologies, can coexist in the state and will significantly enhance our status and position the state as an economic hub in the West African subregion” positioned.

The ADC gubernatorial candidate also accused Governor Abiodun’s government of abandoning the 250 bed specialist hospital which was built and equipped by the immediate past administration of Senator Ibikunle Amosun.

“In what has become a worrisome tradition, another of such projects being allowed to rot away is the hospital at Okemosan Abeokuta. Notwithstanding any explanation the government may have for that mindless abandonment, the fact remains that it is a good idea that already had huge investment in it”

“…We cannot deny the infrastructural gap in our health sector and what government needed to do was to ensure that beside making OOUTH and other general hospitals better equipped and serviceable to the masses, the 250-bed hospital could have been scaled up as a specialist hospital to meet the standards of some of the best hospitals in the country” Otegbeye provided context.

The ADC gubernatorial flag bearer assured the traditional ruler and his audience that his administration will correct this and such anomalies in various sectors of our socioeconomic if he is elected Governor of Ogun state.

This development comes days after he promised accelerated economic growth and “life more fulfilling” at the palace of Oba Gabriel Adebisi Onafuwa, Oliworo of Iworo in Ijebu in North East Local Government
