Olumide Osoba

Words of mouth in Ogun state have put Olumide, the son of respected elder statesman, Olusegun Osoba on the list of possible next Governor.

The younger Osoba is on his third tenure as a Federal House of Representatives member in Ogun State.

Added to the talks are assertions that the gubernatorial ambition of the House of Representatives member would be actualized on the altar of the political structure that has kept him relevant – his father’s.

The elder statesman is not just a large-than-life former Governor of Ogun state, he is the leader of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ogun and also one of the closest persons to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

As a major contributor to the first (2019) and second (2023) electoral victories of incumbent Governor Dapo Abiodun, Osoba is credited with not making any demand in exchange for his support – although the former continues to treat him with the utmost regard.

Olumide Osoba’s increased visibility at government engagements, particularly in the state is mouthed as part of the moves to become the next Governor of Ogun state.

Osoba joins the list of touted contenders that has Senator Olamilekan Solomon Adeola, the political power otherwise known as Yayi, as the lead person.
