Osoba!…Why Insiders Insist It Is Wrong To Say Political Leader Does Not Want Anything From Gov Abiodun
Charles Oyelesi
Insiders insist that it is wrong to say that the leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ogun State, Aremo Segun Osoba does not want anything from Governor Dapo Abiodun.
“That’s not totally correct” a source disclosed.
Societynow.ng gathered that though Aremo OIoba is not directly making demands of the governor, his loyalists are lobbying hard to get political appointments in the new government.
Insiders insist the game plan is easily put together.
“Osoba is making no demands from the governor but his well-known loyalists are lobbying hard for political positions in the new government based on the influence of his caucus. And Osoba has not publicly or privately distanced himself from such moves” a source pointed out.
OIoba, who is one of the early backers of the gubernatorial ambition of Dapo Abiodun, played a key role in the emergence of the new administration in Ogun State.
The checks made by societynow.ng revealed that the Osoba caucus of the ruling All Progressives Congress believes it should be favored, more than other political groups – within and outside the party – that teamed up to help Abiodun become the Governor of Ogun state.
The governor is, however, trying to manage the situation in a manner that will give all interests a sense of belonging.
Societynow.ng learned that this development is one of the major reasons for the delay in appointing commissioners by Governor Abiodun six months after he took office.
