Ooni Reacts As Oyetola Lobbies All Osun Traditional Rulers To Support His 2nd Term Ambition

Governor Gboyega Oyetola wants the support of all the traditional rulers in Osun state in his bid to secure a second term in office.
And he has gone all out to achieve this.
The 67year old husband of Alhaja Kafayat reportedly made an unscheduled appearance at the meeting of the Osun State Council of Traditional Rulers to lobby for their support.
Oyetola who is up in arms with Minister Rauf Aregbesola over control of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Osun State made the move yesterday, Thursday, January 6, 2021.
The Governor reportedly sought the blessings of the traditional rulers for a second term in office at the meeting chaired by Ooni of Ife Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi in Osogbo, the state capital.
Oyetola stated that the need to consolidate the good works he has done is the reason for seeking a second term.
Ooni Ogunwusi , the Chairman of the Osun state Traditional rulers, however, noted that as Royal fathers they are neutral in matters of politics but assured Governor that the council wishes him the best in his endeavor and has prayed for him dutifully.
The election that determines the next Governor of Osun state is scheduled for July 2022.
Political parties- including Oyetola’s APC – are earmarked to have elected their gubernatorial candidates before then.
