Ogun Commissioner Omoniyi Akande Speaks On “Demystifying” Senator Tolu Odebiyi

Ogun State Commissioner Omoniyi Akande has reacted to the story of demystifying Senator Tolu Odebiyi.

The Commissioner who is in charge of Housing says that was not his plan.

The politician more popularly known as Jagunmolu made his reaction known in a statement in circulation signed by one Olumide Abiodun of the Office of the Honorable Commissioner for Housing, Ogun state.

The statement which confirmed that Omoniyi doled out Covid-19 palliatives explained that ‘’ That, the palliative programme mentioned by the author was done by the Honourable Commissioner in his personal capacity during the early time of COVID-19 lockdown in Nigeria. It was only meant to be his intervention and support programme for the people, devoid of any ulterior motive such as currently being speculated. It was meant to served the purpose of alleviating the sufferings of the needy in the captured areas against the bite of the lockdown.’’

Nowhere in the original story – How Ogun Commissioner Omoniyi Akande Demystified Senator Tolu Odebiyi – was it mentioned or inferred that the commissioner had an agenda against the Senator by providing helping hand to his people during the pandemic.

The statement released by Commissioner Akande for obvious political reasons with the header “RE: How Ogun Commissioner Omoniyi Akande Demystified Senator Tolu Odebiyi” unedited, includng the mistake in numbering reads…

“Our attention has been drawn to the above named subject published on societynow.ng and written by one Charles Oyelesi and we wish to state categorically as follows:

• That, neither the Honourable Commissioner for Housing in Ogun State, Jagunmolu Akande Omoniyi nor any of his aides authorized/contracted the author or the publisher to write any article whatsoever/or as captioned above.
• That, the whole content does not represent the view of the Honorable Commissioner nor his group of friends and political associates about Senator Tolu Odebiyi whom we hold in the high esteem. We say unequivocally that the write up does not also serve the interest of our political party, APC and Ogun State government in anyway.
• That, the palliative programme mentioned by the author was done by the Honourable Commissioner in his personal capacity during the early time of COVID-19 lockdown in Nigeria. It was only meant to be his intervention and support programme for the people, devoid of any ulterior motive such as currently being speculated. It was meant to served the purpose of alleviating the sufferings of the needy in the captured areas against the bite of the lockdown.
• That, the perception of the writer from Jagunmolu Akande Omoniyi’s palliative programmme back in April were from the figment of his imagination meant to create rancour and disunity between two brothers Senator Tolu Odebiyi and Jagunmolu Akande Omoniyi for reason(s) best known to him and his cohorts or sponsors.
• That, the Honourable Commissioner, Jagunmolu Akande Omoniyi will not buy the writer’s evil bait and see a brother and a worthy representative of all of us as an enemy to be fought.
• We are hereby saying without mincing words that the Honourable Commissioner hold his brother Senator Tolu Odebiyi in high esteem and will continue to accord him deserved respect as a true representative of our senatorial district and a worthy political figure. Senator Odebiyi is doing his best to complement the numerous efforts of Prince Dapo Abiodun administration to Build Our Future and reposition the state as a whole for greater glory. This is to the advantage of our great party APC, Ogun West and Ogun State, Jagunmolu Akande Omoniyi will want him to continue in that might, he should not be distracted.
• That, the immediate assignment before Jagunmolu Akande Omoniyi is the mandate given to him by His Excellency, Prince Dapo Abiodun MFR, on behalf of the good people of Ogun state to solve the problem of housing deficit through the provision of affordable housing units for the people of the state among others. This is uppermost in his (Jagunmolu Akande Omoniyi) mind. He will not want to be distracted by political warmongers with the evil intention of causing needless, gainless feud that will serve no positive purpose for the people of Ogun west and the state in general.
• It is on this note that we strongly warn people fanning embers of discord and disunity to desist from using the name Jagunmolu Akande Omoniyi in playing their satanic political game. The Honourable Commissioner is not interested overtly or covertly in any political battle with anyone anywhere. Jagunmolu Akande Omoniyi has never been like that and definitely he will not pick fight with his kinsman, Senator TOLULOPE AKINREMI ODEBIYI.
• We therefore appeal to Senator Odebiyi to see the issue as evil machination from mischief makers to achieve a predetermined aim of dividing the two brothers and gentlemen.’’
