Not Tinubu!…Here Are The Arrow Heads Of Attacks Against Aregbesola, Behind The Scene Reasons They Are After Minister Of Interior

Dele Alake and Tunji Bello, two of the golden boys of Asiwaju Bola Tinubu have been fingered as the arrowheads of the attack against Minister for Interior Rauf Aregbesola.

Aregbesola is largely seen as the ‘’second in hand command’’ in the highly influential political family of Asiwaju Tinubu.

Tinubu is one of the powerful shots callers in the All Progressives Congress(APC), the party in charge of the Federal Government.

He has ‘’a near-absolute’’ control of the Lagos State chapter of the party – and firm control of the Lagos State Government with one of his men, Babajide Sanwo-Olu as governor.

Aregbesola, a former commissioner in Lagos state – when Tinubu was governor – is confirmed to be the closest confidante of the former governor.

Aregbesola’s position has, however, come under attack since he served as the Governor of Osun State.

Insiders disclosed that as governor of Osun state Aregbesola retained his influence in the politics of Lagos state and huge closeness to Tinubu – and this did not sit well with some of the other members Tinubu’s inner caucus – particularly those based in Lagos State.

‘’ They wanted Aregbesola to focus on the politics of Osun state so that they could expand their influence with Tinubu and in the politics of Lagos State’’ societynow.ng learned.

Insiders disclose that Aregbesola rebuffed the move and used his position as Governor of Osun state to further cement his closeness to Tinubu.

‘’As Governor of Osun state, Aregbesola retained extraordinary rapport with Tinubu, including constantly traveling from Osun to Lagos for inputs and discussions on different things to the chagrin of the caucus led by Alake and Bello’’ societynow.ng learned.

Insiders disclosed that the Alake and Bello team base their antagonism against Aregbesola on the premise of the situation with Lai Muhammed.

Muhammed, after he contested and lost in the ambition to become the Governor of Kwara state has contented himself with ‘’becoming an observer and advisor’’ in the politics of Lago State – while playing a very active part in that of Kwara state.

Muhammed who is now the Minister for Information and Culture was formerly a major player in the affairs of Lagos State.

‘’They are insisting that Aregbesola should take the Lai Muhammed position in the politics of Lagos State’’ societynow.ng learned.

Those who should know, however, insist that there is a big difference between Aregbesola and Lai Muhammed when it comes to the politics of Lagos State and closeness to Asiwaju Tinubu.

‘’Lai Muhammed is a far distance to Aregbesola when it comes to politics of Lagos state and closeness to Tinubu. Muhammed needs to make a success of his incursion into Kwara politics to have a say in the Asiwaju political family while Aregbesola does not need that..He controls a very significant votes area and his extremely close to the shots caller. Insiders disclosed that the ploy against Aregbesola is simple, play on Tinubu’s life-long presidential ambition to pitch him against Aregbesola.

Insiders disclosed that ‘’is why there are many talks about this Aregbesola’s presidential ambition. They are pushing Tinubu to move against Aregbesola with claims that he is building a profile and structure across the state to position himself as a viable alternative to Tinubu ahead of the 2023 presidential election’’.
