“Nobody Wants To Be Gov For 1yr” – Aiyedatiwa Declares Ambition AFter Akeredolu’s Burial

The Governor of Ondo State, Lucky Aiyedatiwa has declared his intention to secure another four years in office.

“Definitely, I will be running. I’m already a sitting governor. Let me say this: Nobody wants to be governor for one year.

“Give me what the constitution allows me to do. At least, let me have a chance of running for one more term.” Aiyedatiwa declared during a chat with television station T.V.C on Friday, February 23, 2024, regarding his interest in the November 16, 2024 Ondo Gubernatorial election.

Aiyedatiwa, the immediate past deputy governor of Ondo state was sworn in as Governor on December 27, 2023, barely 24 hours after the death of his principal Rotimi Akeredolu.

Akeredolu was on the last leg of his second term in office when he died after a protracted illness. Aiyedatiwa did not serve as Deputy Governor in the late Governor’s first term.

Akeredolu was buried on Friday, February 23, 2024, in Owo, Ondo state after days of funeral activities
