Meet “3 Musketeers” Who Helped Gbenga Daniel Get Record-Making Senatorial Win
secured the highest-votes-ever to win a senatorial election
Senator Gbenga Daniel, the former Governor of Ogun state secured his new status with a recording breaking win.
OGD (acronym for Otunba Gbenga Daniel) secured the highest-votes-ever to win a senatorial election – 115,147 votes.
He won all the 9 local government areas (LGA) in the senatorial district, including Ijebu North, Odogbolu, Remo North, Sagamu, Ijebu North-East, Ijebu Ode, Ijebu East, Ikenne and Ogun Waterside SocietyNow.Ng gathered.
His nearest challenger with 58,708 votes did not come anywhere near.
The win of the Senator representing Ogun East remains unchallenged in any court court or tribunal.
The Senator during the celebration of his inauguration pointed out – for recognition – persons he described as “the three musketeers” as the arrow heads of his historic electoral victory SocietyNow.Ng confirmed.
The former Governor identified them as Otunba Fatai Sowemimo (OFS), John Obafemi (JOBAF) and General Muyiwa Okunowo (rtd).
Sowemimo is the immediate past Chairman of the Ogun State Water Corporation. He is also a former member of the Ogun State House of Assembly and an Ex-Commissioner for Sports in Ogun State findings by SocietyNow.Ng revealed.
On his part, John Obafemi is the deputy director of Senator Daniel’s support group – the Gateway Movement.
A former member of the Ogun State House of Assembly – a separate political dispensation from Sowemimo’s -, Obafemi is also a former two-term Chairman of Remo North Local Government according to information available to SocietyNow.Ng.
The person that completes the “three musketeers” according to Senator Daniel is General Muyiwa Okunowo (Rtd).
A passionate member of the Tinubu Shettima Grassroots Independent Campaign – as well as Sowemimo and Obafemi -, Okunowo is a member of the Ooni Caucus ( Ooni Adeyeye Ogunwusi) and strong propagator of culture and better Yorubaland.
Okunowo has extensive contacts horned by humanitarian gestures, a trait he shares with the other two added checks by SocietyNow.Ng revealed.
According to Senator Daniel, the “three musketeers” coordinated the activities that resulted in the ground swell victory that gave him his new status.
“They really put their backs into the campaign and deployed their extensive contacts and influences to get things done, they were everywhere” SocietyNow.Ng learned.
