Transport Union Boss, Musiliu Akinsanya has shied away from handing over to the successor agreed by all stakeholders, Mustapha Adekunle alias Seego as the Chairman of the Lagos state chapter of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW).

Information at hand revealed that Akinsanya famously known as MC Oluomo adopted the posture to protect his ambition to become the national president of the transport union.

Insiders disclosed that although the move is contrary to the agreement – and an open declaration – he made to hand over to Seego as the Lagos NURTW Chairman by the end of January 2024, he appeared to have secured a reprieve from where it “really matters” on the premise of maintaining the peace.

Sources claim he extracted the pledge in the guise of making peace with Seego, his estranged pal primed to replace him as the Chairman of the NURTW in Lagos state.

Seego had outplayed MC Oluomo’s alleged surreptitious ploy to retain control of the Lagos NURTW ahead of his becoming the National President and the former’s installation as a replacement.

The chain reaction of the move resulted in the call for a truce meeting where MC Oluomo raised Seego’s hand as successor and pledged to step down by the end of January 2024.

The fallout of the development saw heated back and forth between the two camps ahead of the end-of-January handover that threatened MC Oluomo’s ambition to become National President.

The never-say-die transport unionist subsequently perfected a ruse that returned him to reckoning in the name of resolving differences with Seego. The ploy saw him secure the backing of major influences to stay in office till the election NURTW election for national president in order to leverage the position in securing a win.
