There is an emerging talk in and out of the political circle of Ogun state.

And it dwells on the chances of Governor Ibikunle Amosun actualizing his dream of becoming a Senator in the next general election.

Societynow.ng learned the talk has root in a recent development.

The governor was said to have been booed and called infamous names by party members from Abeokuta South, the political zone he wants to emerge as Senator.

According to trending information, the Governor suffered the treatment at the Presidential Lodge, Abeokuta venue of consensus candidates he “arranged” for the All Progressives Congress in Ogun state.

According to information available, “all other local governments lauded emergence of aspirants for one position or the other, accepting their fate except Abeokuta South people who revolted and hurled abuses and rained abuses on him for doing contrary to their wish”.

Societynow.ng learned talk of this treatment is being used as a measurement for Amosun’s acceptance in the political circuit of Abeokuta South.

Amosun was a former Senator from the zone before he became Governor of Ogun state.

As Governor he is accused of focusing on the development of Abeokuta, his political base, at the expense of other zones in the state.

“Interestingly he now faces opposition from that very axis” a source stated.
