It is no more news that Ibrahim Egungbohun, the spender more popularly known as IBD Dende is out of detention.

And it is also no breaking news that Dende was arrested for alleged gun running by men of the Nigeria Customs Service.

What is new is the latest twist in the alleged gun running accusation that resulted in Ibrahim Egungbohun’s detention.

Societynow.ng gathered the latest story is that after Dende’s arrest and detention, it was discovered – in the course of an investigation- that “there were no guns in the cars seized from his boys”.

Egungbohun was reportedly arrested after men of the Nigerian Customs allegedly apprehended his boys smuggling cars bearing arms and ammunition into the country.

The Big spender’s home in Ilaro was reportedly stormed and he was bundled to the agency’s head office in Abuja.

But the latest version of events after he secured his release puts a new spin to things.

According to the latest spin narrated to societynow.ng “No gun or guns was discovered in the cars. They heard stories and stormed his home and once they got to Abuja an already prepared charge of gunrunning was slammed on him. However, when the seized cars were searched, no guns were found…Those who arrested him were so cocksure that they kept the cars in custody and slammed him with the charge but upon searching, nothing was found in them”.

Sources close to the chairman of IBD Impex Limited claim he was released based on the latest version of what transpired.

Added revelation based on the new story clam “he was set up by detractors out to wreck him”.

The individual behind the plot against Dende is alleged to be based in Idiroko area of Ogun state and is a big player in the underground movement of “frozen Turkey” into the country.

There is said to be a bit of tension around Dende’s business interests as his boys rear to go back on a payback mission.
