Keystone MD, Oti Ikomi Resigned To Manage Worsening Health!

Findings by societynowng.com revealed- the immediate past Managing Director of Keystone Bank, Oti Ikomi resigned due to the singular reason of ‘ worsening health problem’.

And according to a source, he had to pull out of official engagements to manage the ‘unravelling scare’

Sources disclosed Ikomi was forced to take this measure when his health started affecting ‘expectations’ at his place of work.

‘The management had started raising eyebrows about conflicts between official engagements and reasons that bothers on personal well being’ a source divulged.

Informants claimed with the way matter was progressing, the alternate scenerio was for Ikomi to hold on to his post- and be ultimately forced out. He chose to resign with benefits intact.

His resignation on Tuesday October 09 was with immediate effect- and his successor- in acting capacity-, Dr. Shehu K. Muhammad (an insider within the establishment) announced two days later.

Investigations by society revealed the ill health bedevilling Ikomi as ‘grave and requires extensive treatment’

Talks have it, the ailment was on before he assumed the position of Chief Executive Officer Keystone.

Bank spokes person Mr. Dafe Ivwurie did not comment on the issue.

The bank however sent a reproduced E-mail to societynowng.com

‘Keystone Bank has announced Dr. Shehu K. Muhammad as its new acting Managing Director/CEO.

The Board of Directors rising from a meeting on Friday, October 12, 2012, formally accepted the resignation of Mr. Oti Ikomi, who resigned on Thursday, October 11.

Dr. Muhammad, an astute and experienced banker, holds a Ph.D in Development Economics from Universite de Granoble II, France (1989), an MBA and a B.Sc. degree in Business Administration both from the Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, Nigeria (1983 and 1979 respectively).

Dr. Muhammad brings to Keystone Bank, robust intellectual capital, strong management consultancy skills and extensive commercial banking experience acquired over 18 years of engagement at ICON Limited (Merchant Bankers) Bank of the North Limited and Unity Bank Plc, with hands-on competences in strategy development, corporate planning, corporate banking, treasury marketing, and product development.

Until this appointment Dr. Shehu K. Muhammad was Executive Director, Corporate Banking.
