Is This Pointer -Despite Open Support For Dapo Abiodun – Yayi Has Sneakily Renewed Ogun Guber Campaign?

Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola better known as Yayi contributed to the emergence of Dapo Abiodun as the Govenor of Ogun state.

Yayi dumped his Ogun state gubernatorial ambition to team up with others in supporting Dapo Abiodun, in the face of ferocious opposition from then Governor Ibikunle Amosun.

The political arrangement that created this development allowed Yayi to return to Lagos state and retain his seat as the Senator representing Lagos West.

Senator Yayi is believed to enjoy very cordial open  – and private- relationship with Governor Abiodun as a result of this.

But recent happenstance’s is putting the sincerity of Yayi’s rapport with Abiodun to test.

Barely a year into Abiodun’s administration Yayi’s known point men have renewed talks of his interest to become the governor of Ogun state.

And the talks are growing societynow.ng learned.

“The gubernatorial talks about Yayi are not intense neither can they be dismissed..it is just enough to remind people he has not foreclosed the chance of becoming the governor of Ogun state and may give it another shot at the nearest opportunity” a keen watcher analysed the tone of the silent campaign.

Societynow.ng gathered that some view the development as a sneaky renewal of Yayi”s gubernatorial campaign, given his open show of “friendship” with Dapo Abiodun and the governor’s attempt to repay the support of all those that helped him to power with the inclusion of their “nominees” in his government.

“Yes, it is true that every man has the right to his ambition. It is also true that Yayi was popular in the state with his gubernatorial ambition long before Abiodun came. It is also true that the arrangement that brought Abiodun to power was forced by prevailing circumstances of the time, but it is not good,  either directly or by proxy, to engage in actions or inactive that threatens the good that the sacrifices of all the stakeholders achieved” a source stated and explained ” this sneaky campaign by Yayi’s supporters will breed nothing but distrust . In and pool of other players who also entertain interest of becoming the governor of Ogun state, that will weaken the alliance that has keptt Amosun who common enemy has is still fight tooth and nail to take control of the state at bay”.
